City of Waynesville

The City of Waynesville, known to some as the "Gateway to the Smokies", is a family-friendly community that boasts many small shops and delicious restaurants.

Within the rolling hills you will find beautiful landscapes, large estate, farms, and many smaller developed communities. This is a great place for commuters as well as it is approximately a 30 minute drive to Downtown Asheville.

Hazelwood, a subsection of Waynesville is an up-and-coming part of town that has a variety of family-owned businesses and cafes. If you are looking for a place with close proximity to Waynesville's town center without giving up walkability or mountain views, Hazelwood might be the perfect fit for you.

Clyde

If you are looking for true mountain living then Clyde is where you'll find it. From smaller family homes near Clyde's main street to expansive farms and estates at higher elevation, Clyde is the type of town that is spread out across rural landscape.

It is important to note that parts of Clyde were heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene due to it's closeness to the Pigeon River. However, residents are coming together and working diligently to rebuild much of Clyde's charm and beauty.

Canton

What was previously a notorious mill town has become a thriving community with a diverse culture and growing neighborhoods.

Canton, over the course of several decades has transitioned from a predominantly mill town filled with industry workers to a town filled with art, parks, and recreation galore. Residents tend to favor the lower cost of living than Asheville with the short drive to Asheville and Waynesville's amenities. Canton is truly situated in the middle of two fantastic towns.

In the heart of Waynesville you will find the close-knit Lake Junaluska community that is filled with historic homes, recreation, and beautiful, picturesque scenery. The lake itself was once owned by the church that now welcomes visitors from all over. This organiztaions now has severeal buildings along the lake including community centers, play areas, and classrooms. The hotel by the lake also allows for many guests to attend weddings, explore the area, and much more.

If you are looking for a developed area with a central point of action, Lake Junaluska is the place for you.

Rural Haywood County

Rural Haywood County Areas

There are several small towns and rural communities around Haywood county that are not necessarily their own municipality but they feature beautiful rolling hills and homes of many different sizes. You can often find these areas the closer you get to the Blue Ridge Parkway or to the Tennessee border.

If you are interested in rural living, I would be more than happy to explore places like Cruso, Balsam, and more to see how to meet your needs.
